Geography | Head to the hills!
tip

Yes, Malaysia is hot, humid and sticky and takes some getting used to. Your body will need to adjust and that process can take up to six months. But trust us, it will get better.

In the meantime, one great way to beat the heat is to head up to Cameron Highlands or Fraser’s Hill (not even two hours from KL), mountain stations that are cool and dry, lending a sense of relief that you’ll thank yourself for taking. And if you really want to get cool, hike up to the summit of Mount Kinabalu. There you can get below zero on some days!
