If you plan on exploring your surroundings thoroughly and like yourself a bit of jungle, be prepared for leeches. The best way to get rid of a leech attached to you is to drop something nasty on it: vinegar, lemon juice, salt or even a Fisherman’s Friend (some swear by it.) Also locally available is tiger balm, panacea for all ills and wonderful leech-killer.
