Redang’s coral reefs are famous, and tourists are requested not to remove any part of the reef, even loose dead coral. Dead coral might not seem like that much of a loss to the island, but bear in mind that it’s a vital part of the ecosystem, and even if each tourist takes only one piece, that could mean a drastic change to the coral reef’s environment.
